In this time of uncertainty and overwhelm I would like to invite you to gather with others and nourish your lymphatic system while raising funds to support community members directly who have been impacted by I.C.E. activity.
While we cannot easily change the stressors we experience in our lives, we can change how we respond to them. Having strategies available to transition from living in a state of constant survival to a place of resilience benefits us and the world around us. Doing this in community provides an opportunity to connect and co-regulate with others, something that is deeply missing in society today.
This 90 minute class will incorporate movement, breath, and self-massage to gently support the lymphatic system which directly impacts the strength of the body’s immune system and helps to nourish the nervous system. We will work with our hands, our breath, and a simple inflatable ball to explore the spaces in our bodies that hold physical, mental and emotional stress.
All proceeds from this class will be donated to Deportation Defense Coalition to help families in detention crisis get the resources that they need. Check out their Instagram page for information on families in need.
As a massage therapist for the past 25 years I been teaching my clients how to tend to their nervous systems through breath, movement and self massage. I currently have a bodywork practice in NE Portland, where I work with clients one-on-one. I also teach community classes at a few locations in the greater Portland area.
